I’m relatively new to working with metal, but I enjoy the challenge of learning the required skills in welding, turning and milling metals of various types.
Lamp with gin bottle sides
Our decorative kerosene lamp needed a new look after the old lamp glass had broken.

Six small glass bottles (empty!) were used.

Captain America Shield
My Grandson is a fan of Marvel comic heroes, including Captain America (!) so I made him a replica CA shield from an old round metal firepit which was found at a local junk yard.

Model steam engines
I occasionally dabble in things a bit more demanding from a technical point of view.
Here’s a model steam engine I entered into the Hawkesbury show in 2024 and won first prize.

And here’s another one, this one being slightly simpler as it is only a single cylinder machine.

This little engine was my first attempt.

I’m pleased to say all three of these steam engines actually work, although they have been tested only with compressed air as I do not have a source of steam in the form of a suitable boiler.
Powered motorbike ramp

The picture above shows a motorised ramp I made to assist with loading my motorbike onto my trailer. This makes the process much easier and safer.
I have made a short video which can be seen on my YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/Xyxt3hcB5T4
